Jessie Mallicoat - Business Development Manager

Landscape Industry Since: 2010
Signature Landscape Since: 2010
When Jessie Mallicoat came to Signature in 2010, she thought she found the job she pictured herself doing when she was earning her degree in college. She imagined managing the marketing materials, helping build proposals, taking photos, writing and designing newsletters, organizing advertising efforts, updating the website and social media accounts…all activities to keep her behind the scenes. She had no intention of ever moving into a sales role until she had the opportunity to manage new business for a few months during a transition period in 2017. This opportunity stretched her out of her comfort zone and helped her gain the confidence she needed to take on this new challenge.
Since October 2017, Jessie has served as Business Development Manager for the East Branch. She has enjoyed stepping into this role more than she could have imagined. First, she enjoys representing the company and highlighting the talents of the people who work for Signature. She also takes pride in helping make her clients’ jobs easier by providing tailored grounds maintenance solutions. She recognizes that not every property benefits from the standard scope of work, and she enjoys working with her clients to craft a grounds maintenance contract that provides the best solution for each individual property.
Jessie thought she was happy working behind the scenes, but it turns out she’s enjoying getting to work in the field on a regular basis. She is active in the industry organizations with her clients and currently serves on the IREM Golf Committee and helped organize the Reverse Expo. She is also active in the Apartment Association of Kansas City (AAKC), serves as a director on the supplier partner board, and on the government affairs and Noah’s Bandage Project committees. She holds her Certified Apartment Supplier designation and is a Lyceum graduate through AAKC.
What she enjoys most about her job is getting to know people in the industry and learning about Kansas City’s commercial real estate landscape.
