Jim Campbell - Account Manager

Landscape Industry Since: 2012
Signature Landscape Since: 2019
Jim grew up in the Kansas City area and spent time as a printer for Hallmark, before going on to a long successful career as a restaurant owner. As a restaurant owner, he wore many hats including human resources, marketing, and menu and logo design. Jim learned the art of customer service during this time and would use that skill for years to come. His businesses demanded hard work, and Jim attributes his strong work ethic to his father, who used to say, “Anything worth doing is worth doing right.”
After selling his restaurant and some time off, a friend got Jim involved in the green industry in 2012 by talking him into working at a retail garden center. By taking many classes and attending workshops and seminars over several years, he was able to gain valuable industry knowledge. Having worked inside most of his life, he really took to the outside world of lawn and landscape. He found the industry to be quite interesting because of the main variable involved, the weather. Jim says, “Almost every decision you make involves factoring that in. Nothing is ever the same; seasons come and go. Knowledge of how weather affects trees, shrubs, and turf performance and which practices work better in certain situations is key to a thriving landscape.
In 2019 Jim started at Signature Landscape as an Account Manager. He finds traveling throughout the city to help his clients with their grounds maintenance needs very satisfying. According to Jim, working at Signature is all about serving people and he enjoys being around others with the same mindset.
Sports, cooking, and reading are just a few of Jim’s favorite pastimes. He and his wife like spending time trying new plants all around their landscape and deck. Topping the list of things he enjoys is spending time with his family: his wife Connie and two daughters, Sydney and Jordan.
