Morne Bosman - Account Manager

Landscape Industry Since: 2006
Signature Landscape Since: 2021
“I have been passionate about the green industry for most of my life,” says Morne Boseman, “placing a living seed in the soil and seeing it transform into a fully grown plant is something special.” Morne grew up on a farm in sunny South Africa, where his interest in the green industry originated. After high school he studied Agriculture Plant Production with the idea of continuing the family farm.
Instead of farming, Morne’s career began as a Seed Technician at a seed company where he did research on summer crops like corn, sunflowers and soybeans. He lived out his passion for the agriculture industry doing research and planting trials throughout South Africa for 10 years.
Morne then spent time as a Contracts Manager for a hydroseeding company doing rehabilitation and landscape installations in South Africa and other neighboring countries. They focused mainly on establishing vegetation in the mining industry and on large scale construction projects.
Morne moved to the US with his wife and son in 2015. After experiencing the first real winter in Kansas he decided to work indoors, but after not too long he realized he missed working outside. He began working for a local turf company doing turf applications as well as tree and shrub applications. “I enjoy taking care of a client’s property and identifying and improving their landscaping needs,” says Morne. Improving the look of a property gives him great satisfaction and a sense of achievement.
Morne joined Signature’s team as an Account Manager in 2021. He sees himself as an urban farmer as he meets the landscape needs of properties across the metro. He works with the members of his team using the right tools and techniques to produce successful landscape improvements for his clients. The fulfilling reward to this labor is seeing the fruit of improvement such as a greener and weed free lawn or an aesthetically pleasing landscape area.
Through Morne’s wide experience with both Agriculture and Horticulture, he has concluded that patience is the most important quality to have when improving any landscape area. Whether it is establishing new plants or improving the health of stressed turf, positive changes do not often happen overnight.
When he’s not working, Morne and his family like to do anything outdoors, traveling, and experiencing new places and cultures. He enjoys DIY projects, cycling, running and fishing with his son. His wife is always planning the next travel destination. They keep busy with their son’s school and sport activities including basketball and tennis.
