A Landscape That Welcomes Everyone

Resurrection, a United Methodist Church's Leawood Campus is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Kansas City area. Since opening its first permanent sanctuary in 1994, the campus has continued to grow alongside its congregation through multiple expansions, culminating in today's 3,500-seat worship center that serves thousands of members and guests each week.

Every landscape element plays a role in creating a welcoming first impression—from beautifully maintained entrances and formal sanctuary plantings to peaceful outdoor spaces designed for reflection and fellowship.

Beautiful Spaces with a Purpose

Spanning more than 77 acres, the campus features a diverse landscape that serves many different purposes. Native grasses and low-maintenance trees provide sustainable beauty throughout the parking areas, while more formal landscaping surrounds each sanctuary and gathering space.

Visitors also enjoy a variety of outdoor amenities including courtyards, playgrounds, pickleball courts, and the campus prayer walk, all of which require thoughtful planning and year-round attention to detail to remain inviting throughout every season.

One of the property's ongoing maintenance priorities is managing native landscape areas, where proactive weed control helps preserve both the intended appearance and the long-term health of the plantings.

A Responsive Partnership

For the past 12 years, Signature Landscape has worked closely with the church to keep the campus looking its best while supporting the many activities that take place throughout the year.

Account Manager Trevor Taylor and the Signature team understand that flexibility and responsiveness are essential on a campus that hosts worship services, community events, youth activities, and special gatherings nearly every day of the week. Whether planning around major events or responding to unexpected requests, the team is committed to making landscape care one less thing the facilities staff has to worry about.

Here When It Matters

The relationship between Resurrection and Signature Landscape is built on trust, communication, and dependable service.

"Brian knows that whenever he calls, we'll answer," says Trevor Taylor. "Our goal is to make his job easier by being responsive, proactive, and ready to help however we can."

That commitment to partnership goes beyond maintaining beautiful landscapes. It means being a reliable extension of the church's facilities team, helping create outdoor spaces that welcome every visitor and reflect the care the church puts into its campus.
