Cory’s involvement in grounds maintenance began after high school when he began mowing lawns for a local company in his hometown, Hutchinson, Kansas. Cory continued mowing lawns there part time while attending junior college, and by the time he had finished school, he had moved up the ranks and was working as an Applicator.

In 2012, Cory graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in communication studies. While he was pursuing his degree, he worked part time for Lawrence Landscape, again as an applicator. After graduating, he decided to take a break from the green industry and worked in insurance for 2 years. After realizing he really preferred being outside, and his passion was actually in the green industry, Cory left the insurance world and took a job with Heritage Lawns and Irrigation as a Turf Route Manager.

In 2016, Cory came to work at Signature Landscape, which he now calls home. He takes great pride in the fact that he gets to work for the premier grounds maintenance company in the Kansas City metro. What Cory loves most about his job are the people that he gets to work with and the relationships that he gets to cultivate through his work.

Outside of work, Cory enjoys spending time with his family and friends and all things sports and outdoors. He is actively involved in many sports leagues and has a growing love for the game of golf. When he is not working, Cory can be found at Arrowhead Stadium in the fall or at The K in the spring and summer. Cory lives in Lenexa with his wife, Colleen.
