Grant Sherwood - Account Manager
Landscape Industry Since: 2014
Signature Landscape Since: 2023
Grant Sherwood brings a deep knowledge of turf management, a strong work ethic, and a passion for problem-solving to his role as Account Manager at Signature Landscape. Raised in Platte City, Missouri, Grant spent much of his time growing up on the baseball field or golf course. What started as a way to earn free rounds of golf turned into a full-fledged interest in turf science. After joining the grounds team at his local course, Grant quickly found himself asking questions, staying late with the superintendent, and developing a true appreciation for the science behind healthy, high-performing landscapes.
That early curiosity led Grant to the University of Missouri, where he earned a degree in Plant Science with an emphasis in Turf Management. While in college, he completed multiple internships at PGA-level courses, including Austin Country Club and Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas. After graduation, he was hired as an Assistant Superintendent at Trinity Forest, where he helped prepare for the AT&T Byron Nelson PGA event. He later returned to Austin Country Club as Assistant Superintendent before heading back to Kansas City.
In the years that followed, Grant advanced quickly. He served as Assistant Superintendent at Staley Farms Golf Club, was promoted to Superintendent at Prairie Highlands Golf Course, and eventually returned to Staley Farms as Superintendent. While golf course management was both demanding and rewarding, Grant found himself looking for something more. He wanted a place where he could continue growing professionally, serve clients directly, and work on a broader range of projects. That search led him to Signature.
As an Account Manager, Grant brings the same care and attention to detail he honed on tournament-level turf to the commercial landscapes he now oversees. He takes pride in seeing a project through from start to finish and finds real satisfaction in solving problems, building strong relationships, and watching a site improve under his care.
Outside of work, Grant still calls Platte City home. He enjoys remodeling his house, going on bike rides, and continuing the lifelong pursuit of improving his golf game.
