Joey Coble - Account Manager
Landscape Industry Since: 2005
Signature Landscape Since: 2020
Joey grew up in Severy, Kansas – about 60 miles east of Wichita. Severy is the kind of small, farm town where everybody knows everybody else. It was during his work at a local farm that Joey developed an affinity for the outdoors. He would spend his days milking and working cattle, working pigs, hauling hay, planting crops, cultivating, and cutting fields. The hard work left a lasting impression on him and continues to drive his work ethic.
Joey left Severy to attend college at Pittsburg State University in Kansas, where he studied Business Management. While there, he worked for a local construction company pouring foundations for homes in and around the Joplin area. Joey found the work to be fine, but the long hours and travel wore on him. After a year, Joey moved on, accepting a position at a landscape company that his brother-in-law worked at. It was there that Joey found his calling. He continued to work with the company through college and beyond, until six years later, when he moved to Kansas City.
Joey and his wife moved to Kansas City seeking better opportunities for their family. Joey started working at Heritage Lawn and Irrigation as an Irrigation Technician. After four years, Joey was promoted to Irrigation Manager, a role that combined his knowledge of irrigation systems and work ethic into a customer service position. It was there that Joey refined his client relation skills, often educating them about the inner workings of irrigation systems. He spent eight years with Heritage, building strong relationships along the way.
Joey found Signature through a friend, Jeremy Swope, an Account Manager, who mentioned an open position that he felt Joey would be perfect for. Joey enthusiastically joined the Signature team early in 2020. Joey’s philosophy to “always keep learning and teach those around you” fits perfectly with Signature Landscape. He enjoys “talking shop” with the other Account Managers, benefitting from their experience, learning new things, and sharpening his skillset.
Joey spends his time outside of work hanging out with his wife and three boys. They also have a Labradoodle named Nora. It is a good thing that Joey enjoys spending so much time outdoors because with a house full of boys and a hyper dog, his house can get “pretty rowdy!”
