Josh Chabon spent most of his childhood growing up in Olathe, KS. His father would often have topsoil delivered to their driveway, and Josh did not look forward to the work that was to come. Slowly, he and his dad worked to create new landscape beds around his house. To Josh’s surprise, his passion for landscape grew through this process, and even lead him to perform side jobs for neighbors and mow lawns while in high school. He also worked part time at a local lawn and garden store as a dockhand. There, he learned about plants, annuals, sod, and grass seed. Josh steadily started to appreciate all that goes into creating a beautiful outdoor space.

Josh’s choice for college was Kansas State University. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in golf course management, during which time he completed two internships. One internship was at Kansas City Country Club and the other was over the pond at St. Andrews Fife in Scotland. Josh was able to participate in the course setup for the 2005 Open Championship (British) which was held at the Old Course in Scotland that year. After college, he started his formal career in the golf industry and worked at courses in Kansas City and Atlanta. In 2008, he wanted a career change and transitioned to a lawn and landscape company in Kansas City as a Turf Route Manager.

In 2011, Josh achieved two big dreams when he married the love of his life, Stephanie, and went back to Kansas State University to earn his master’s degree. After graduating for the second time in 2014 with his Master’s degree in Horticulture with a focus on turfgrass and water quality, Josh returned to the golf industry as a superintendent at a course in Salina, KS. Next, he moved back to KC with his family to work as a Store Supervisor for a local lawn and garden store in Olathe, and then as a Production Manager for a lawn and landscape company in Olathe. In 2021, Josh joined Signature as Account Manager and is using his knowledge and experience to serve his clients with excellence.

Josh’s philosophy is to love what you do and be true to yourself and others. He enjoys helping clients achieve their vision for their properties and finds satisfaction in aligning Signature’s services with their priorities. He continually strives to learn new information and discover better methods, not only to improve his client’s experiences but also his personal experiences.

Josh and his wife Stephanie live in Olathe with their two daughters, Baylee and Ayrlyn. He stays busy keeping up with his kids and cooking dinners. When free time is available, he enjoys maintaining his own personal landscape, and has embraced the challenge of keeping a bluegrass lawn without irrigation.
