Ricardo Ramírez - Production Manager
Landscape Industry Since: 2002
Signature Landscape Since: 2002
In 2002, Ricardo was given an opportunity to come work with Signature on an H-2B visa and learn the landscape trade. He began working as a mow laborer, then was promoted to a leader of his mow crew, which had the responsibility of servicing some of the larger properties in his region. When help was needed in flower planting, pruning, or chemical application, Ricardo always made himself available, no matter the job. This gave him good exposure to most of the elements of the industry.
Through his hard work and dedication, Signature gave Ricardo an opportunity to advance his career and become a Production Manager. He enjoys the flexibility of the role because he has some time to spend in the office, but also gets the opportunity to get his hands dirty and help his crews on the actual job sites. As he matures in his position, he is noticing that it is becoming easier to catch small details on properties – details that an untrained eye might not see – and to give suggestions for improvement. Ricardo enjoys fulfilling his crucial role in ensuring that the customer is happy with the end product of service. He finds true satisfaction in being able to improve the properties he manages. This satisfaction is the main reason he loves the industry.
Ricardo feels rewarded after the hard work and effort the crews put in, because at the end of the day he can immediately see the positive changes on the property. The work that is produced gives everyone a great deal of pride to have been a part of it.
In his free time Ricardo enjoys spending time with his wife, son and two daughters.
